THE GREAT LORD

 

Speaking of how great a thing is depends on how huge, enormous or gigantic such thing is. Then, when we talk of great persons there are some attributes such person must have displayed which makes that word " Great" attached to their names. Such persons must be seen to be an important or distinguished person.

Attributing the word "Great" to the name of the Lord is undoubtedly an under estimation of his wondrous works which has in all ramifications exceeded the criteria of greatness. Abba is indeed more than a great Lord, if we construe our minds on the wondrous works of the Lord which is evident in nature, we will inarguably agree that He is far beyond greatness. I remembered a particular trip I had using a boat, looking at the waves I was extremely afraid something just reminded me of the stormy sea that the Lord calmed. At that point I was in awe of the wondrous works of the Lord.

The bible even records it in the books of (Psalms 104: 1-end) , the magnitude of the wondrous works of the Lord which makes Him overfit for greatness. (v5) says " Who lays the foundations of the earth that it should not be removed forever". This testifies to the greatness of the Lord in creating the heavens and the earth . The greatness of the Lord makes Him able to oversee the affairs of human in the whole world. What a great Lord!

In conclusion, meditating on the wondrous works of the Lord makes us discover His greatness which is beyond human comprehension. Discovering the Ancient of days as a great Lord makes us appreciate Him for whom He is, this in turn brings down the hands of the Lord in our lives for goodness.


PRAYER POINT: Father, let me have an understanding of your greatness. AMEN..

 When I was younger, I remembered visiting a marble company, There I saw different stages of how the marble is being processed and finally done. I remembered that the several stages in the production was allocated to different people to ensure a smooth and successful completion of the marble. While I was reading through the books of Mathew 20, the phrase workers in the vineyards caught my attention and this reminded me of my introductory story. Here, we are made to see an illustration of individuals working in a vineyard to achieve a common goal and how they are  paid the same wages at the end of the day. What does this mean to us as believers? just as the bible records it in 1 Cor 12: 1-27, we are all different parts of the same body working towards the same goal of populating the kingdom of God, we should not overestimate ourselves. FUEL IT UP!!!

 When I was in primary school I was part of the girls guide. we usually go for weekend camping in any agreed location and I remember that whenever we were at camp, we always have the camp fire at night and everyone will be dancing around it. Whenever the fire goes down, we will put leaves and some other petrochemical substances to enable it burn well. Going through the books of Mathew 25, the story of the 10 virgins ignited a spark in me and I realized instantly that to keep anything burning, we need substances to fuel it up just as we did at the camp whenever the camp fire goes down. Also, most of us have generators in our various homes and I can imagine how much we would feel helpless when we cannot get fuel to power our generators especially when we have a very interesting show coming up or a football match and the electricity distribution company decided to keep the light off. THE SECOND DEATH

I never knew a man could die twice. I mean someone giving up the ghost twice, This sounds very funny, unrealistic and at the same time it sounds strange. Everybody is aware of the situation when a man is proclaimed dead. First and foremost, such individual cannot breathe again, move his or her body in short the person is lifeless. When this tragic event occurs to an individual, such is to be taken away from his/her loved ones and buried. I am extremely sure this is the understanding most of us have when we hear that a person is dead. Talking of the second death, does it now means that such person who has earlier died will repeat the same process? A candid answer to this can be found in the books of revelations 20:14. We were made to understand what the second death indicates. Scripturally, it means the lake of fire.
