THE MISSING SHEEP

There was a particular time I embarked on a journey. On getting to the park I saw two different buses, one was going exactly where I was going, it had just a passenger left to be filled up  and expensive while the other was empty, less expensive but was not going exactly where I was going but I could manoeuvre and later get to my destination. Immediately, I made a quick decision in me that I will follow the less expensive bus as it was cheaper and I could easily pick anywhere I wanted to sit.

Lo and behold, the bus driver with a single passenger to complete kept running up and down to ensure that his bus gets filled up, in a way he came to me and started persuading me to follow his bus and told me that the bus was not moving because I refused to join. The other bus driver became angry and started giving me reasons I should follow his bus. At that point I became confused and I felt lost as I did not know which bus I was to follow again but later I decided to follow the single passenger needing bus as the driver eventually reduced the price for me and I got to where I was going with ease and was forever delighted.

From this little story above we could make a lot of deductions, the single passenger needing bus driver serves as the Father (Jesus Christ) who Has paid the price for our redemption and keeps persuading the lost one to return home to Him while the other driver stands in place of  attractions which are ephemeral even though the benefits from it looks catchy. The passenger stands as the missing sheep, confused about the choice she should make, is it to follow the more expensive bus, which signifies the behaviors we have to shed away to align to the will of God which we find too costly for us to let go or to follow the less expensive one which she can decide to delve into any activity she finds satisfying even if it is against the will of God as it is easier for her and it does not require much efforts.

The shepherd is never pleased when there is a missing sheep among the flock the bible records it that "He leaves the ninety-nine to go in search of the missing one (Ezekiel 34:11-12, Luke 15:4-5). Hence the driver's effort to make sure the confused passenger enters the right bus. There are times we feel we want to move closer to the Ancient of days, but due to worldly attractions we get indifferent about the right track to follow just as the passenger was confused as to the bus to follow.

In conclusion brethren, Abba is calling unto as many sheep that are scattered abroad He is using this medium to tell them to come home, He is welcoming them to his fold, telling them not to mind the distractions even if they seem pleasing at the moment and fix their focus on Christ even if it seems  rigorous as the bible says "..... the sufferings of the present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us" (Romans 8:18). He has fully paid the price for us.

PRAYER POINT: Father, bring all missing sheep back to your fold. Amen.

  2. God bless you debs for this powerful piece. He keeps calling to the lost sheep even till today. The scriptures are very clear on this. Why don't we take up the bold step to follow Him? Remember, His leading gives our path clarity just like the scriptures indicated in Psalms 119:109 - Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and light unto my path. A man without God is a man in confusion and without purpose. In Christ alone can the purpose and life of a man be found, don't forget.

FUEL IT UP!!!

When I was in primary school I was part of the girls guide. we usually go for weekend camping in any agreed location and I remember that whenever we were at camp, we always have the camp fire at night and everyone will be dancing around it. Whenever the fire goes down, we will put leaves and some other petrochemical substances to enable it burn well. Going through the books of Mathew 25, the story of the 10 virgins ignited a spark in me and I realized instantly that to keep anything burning, we need substances to fuel it up just as we did at the camp whenever the camp fire goes down. Also, most of us have generators in our various homes and I can imagine how much we would feel helpless when we cannot get fuel to power our generators especially when we have a very interesting show coming up or a football match and the electricity distribution company decided to keep the light off. Brethren, reading through Mathew 25: 1-13, we would have a better understanding of what it means to fu...

God's Laws Versus God's Promise

A father who lives in the diaspora once had a son and for some reasons his son cannot come along with him. Nevertheless, he kept on investing and was lucrative in his business. This man got a guardian to keep his son in track while he was away and he wrote his will so that when he is away permanently his possession could be given to his child by the guardian on reaching a specified age written in his will. He did this so that the child could be rightly led and could have come of age not to mismanage the properties. Going through the books of Galatians, I had a deeper understanding of God's laws and God's promises. Firstly, we have sins, laws and promises. Literally, Sin is anything detestable to God, God's laws are the guidance from God given alongside the promise to reveal to people their sins (Gal 3:19). God's law was given until the fulfilment of the promise. God's promise is simply grace in the human form of Christ Jesus. Going back to my introductory story, the...

UNDER THE SUN!

A whole lot goes down under the sun, when I say under the sun i am referring to the whole earth as a whole. Imagine a  child is born into the world, coming out of the mother's womb empty and naked, after the child's birth he is weaned and goes through several stages before he finally starts his education, from primary to secondary and to higher institution he could even go to the length of taking professional exams and pursuing his career to the peak. After this his parents tells him to bring home a wife, he gets married start having kids and making his kids follow the same process as he has been brought up,when he grows old he dies and maybe wills his property to his children and he without no doubt knows what happens again after his demise as he will be buried empty not even with the certificates and qualifications he has attained. What a life!       This above example is typical of a successful human, several generation comes and goes. we all have fore fath...
